The Foundation of ESG and Sustainability

  • The business case: Linking ESG performance to risk management and value creation
  • Introduction to major global frameworks and standards

 

DAY 2

Strategic Materiality and Data Collection

  • Conducting a formal materiality assessment (double and dynamic)
  • Stakeholder identification and engagement for ESG data gathering
  • Metrics and methodologies for environmental data (GHG emissions, water, waste)
  • Metrics and methodologies for social data (DEI, labor practices, human rights)

 

DAY 3

Governance and ESG Reporting Standards

  • The 'G' in ESG: Board oversight, executive compensation, and anti-corruption
  • Deep dive into the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards and their application
  • Introduction to the SASB (Sector-specific) framework
  • The structure and components of a high-quality, transparent ESG Report

 

DAY 4

Climate Risk and Financial Disclosures (TCFD)

  • Understanding climate-related risks (physical and transition)
  • Applying the TCFD recommendations: Governance, Strategy, Risk Management, Metrics/Targets
  • Integrating ESG into enterprise risk management (ERM)
  • External assurance and data validation processes

 

DAY 5

Roadmap and Investor Relations

  • Developing an ESG improvement roadmap and target setting
  • Engaging with ESG rating agencies (MSCI, Sustainalytics) and investors
  • Communicating the ESG narrative to capital markets
  • Post-test
